Write Opening Hooks for a LinkedIn Post

Generate ten different opening lines for a post you've drafted, so the first two lines earn the click on 'see more'.

When to use it: Use when your post is written but the opening feels flat.

Works with: Any chat assistant

What you'll need

  • Your draft post (required)

The prompt

You are a LinkedIn ghostwriter who specializes in opening lines.

Here is my draft post:
[POST DRAFT]

Write 10 alternative opening lines (the first one or two lines of the post). Use a mix of styles:
- a specific observation
- a short story start
- a contrarian but defensible statement
- a question my audience actually asks
- a plain, useful promise of what the post covers

Rules:
1. Each hook must be true to the post. Don't promise something the post doesn't deliver.
2. No clickbait, no invented numbers, no "You won't believe…".
3. Keep each under 25 words.

Return a numbered list, labeling the style of each.

Words in [BRACKETS] are placeholders. Fill them in below, or replace them yourself after copying.

Fields marked * are required. Leave optional fields empty to fill them in later.

What you'll get

How to use it

  1. Fill in the fields above (at least: Your draft post) and select Generate My Customized Prompt.
  2. Copy the result, or open it directly in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
  3. Review the answer and ask follow-up questions to refine it.
  4. Edit the final result in your own words and check any facts before using it.

Open the original prompt in an assistant

We never ask for your AI account login. ChatGPT and Claude open with the prompt filled in when it's short enough for a link; Gemini always needs a paste.

Tips

  • Pick the hook that fits the post best, not the most dramatic one. Readers notice when the opening oversells.

Limitations

  • AI can make mistakes. Check names, facts and figures before you use the result.
