Create an SEO Content Brief

Produce a writer-ready brief: search intent, outline, questions to answer and what makes the page better than what ranks today.

When to use it: Use before writing or commissioning an article for a target keyword.

Works with: Any chat assistant

What you'll need

  • Primary Keyword (required)
  • Secondary Keywords (optional)
  • Target Audience (required)
  • Your unique expertise or data (optional)
  • Notes on top-ranking pages (optional)

The prompt

Act as a senior SEO content strategist.

Create a content brief for the keyword: [PRIMARY KEYWORD]
Secondary keywords: [SECONDARY KEYWORDS]
Audience: [TARGET AUDIENCE]
Our unique expertise or data: [OUR ANGLE]

Notes on the current top-ranking pages (paste titles/headings or observations):
[SERP NOTES]

The brief should include:
1. Search intent in one sentence, and what the reader needs to leave satisfied.
2. Recommended title tag (under 60 characters) and meta description (under 155 characters).
3. An H2/H3 outline.
4. Questions the article must answer.
5. How this page can be more useful than the current results, based on my notes and our angle.
6. Internal links to suggest (if I listed pages) and sources the writer should cite.

Don't claim what the top results contain beyond my notes.

Words in [BRACKETS] are placeholders. Fill them in below, or replace them yourself after copying.

Fields marked * are required. Leave optional fields empty to fill them in later.

What you'll get

A structured brief with intent, title and meta, outline, questions and differentiation.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the fields above (at least: Primary Keyword, Target Audience) and select Generate My Customized Prompt.
  2. Copy the result, or open it directly in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.
  3. Review the answer and ask follow-up questions to refine it.
  4. Edit the final result in your own words and check any facts before using it.

Open the original prompt in an assistant

We never ask for your AI account login. ChatGPT and Claude open with the prompt filled in when it's short enough for a link; Gemini always needs a paste.

Tips

  • The 'our angle' field matters most: original data or experience is what helps a page stand out.

Limitations

  • AI can make mistakes. Check names, facts and figures before you use the result.
